Editor's Review: Biscuit Joiners: From Simple to Super

review date: September 1, 2005

This lightweight biscuit joiner made top-notch joints and cut slots for all biscuit sizes except the FF mini-biscuits. However, the side-mounted trigger is located poorly, and there is no grip on the body of the tool. The fence is difficult to read but has useful detents at 45 and 90 degrees. An included thickness plate can be attached to center biscuits in 1/2-in. boards. The blade was one of the easiest to access, which is done by simply turning a thumbscrew. To change the blade, you press a spindle lock and loosen the blade with a wrench. The dust port clogged easily when cutting solid wood.
