Editor's Review: Cordless Framing Nailers

review date: March 1, 2007

This nailer has several redeeming features. The depth-of-drive adjustment was fast and easy, required no tools, and worked well within the model's power limitations. The reversible rafter/belt hook is effective. The spurred nosepiece is heavy duty; after a few months of use, it was still sharp.

This was the only gun that jammed during our testing, and fixing it was difficult, requiring the removal of three hex-head screws and juggling several small parts that can fall off in the process.

A clipped-head nailer is also available from Max (GS683CH; $365).
