Metabo offers good tools in its cordless combo kit, but the battery attachments are the worst of the 11 we tested. Releasing the drill battery was an inconvenient process, but removing the saw's pack was downright cumbersome. The unique forward/reverse rocker switch took some getting used to. The saw, however, features an outstanding lock-off switch and a sturdy metal base and blade guard. The swiveling dust port promised good things but tended to clog during heavy cutting. Although powerful, the saw was below average in endurance. The 30-minute fan-cooled charger is excellent.
