Good you guys are spreading the word about these things. I had a leaking gasket on my roof and did not know it until we noticed a wet spot on the ceiling in my daughters bathroom. I went in the attic and found that the rain water had been leaking in and running down the vent pipe in the attic onto the insulation and sheetrock. Well after replacing the molded insulation, stainblocking and repainting the ceiling I put on a Perma-Boot I got at the Home Depot for like $19 (they have them over by the shingles). while I was up there I put one on the other three vent pipes as well. Two of them were brittle and I am sure close to failing. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of repair after the fact!! Wish I had come up with this. Oh yeah, my neighbor said he saw them at Lowes too.
