If I installed more tile, I’d probably learn to avoid getting thinset mortar all over my clothes. But as I finished up a floor the other day, I realized that my previously unsullied work clothes now sported a carapace of thinset. Figuring that acid removes fresh cement, I tossed a cup of vinegar in the washing machine along with the detergent and just that set of work clothes. Worked like a charm.

Vinegar is wonderful for neutralizing masonry and cement that coats your skin also. You can get quite a chemical burn from any alkalai.
