Video Archive: Stone Veneering
You can make a plain-looking wall into a great-looking rock wall by veneering it with fieldstone.
Laying up stone veneer to look authentic is a matter of, well, making it look authentic, which is done by choosing and using the veneer in a way that looks structurally appropriate. In this gem from the Fine Homebuilding archives, Brevard, North Carolina, stonemason and freelance writer Cody Macfie of Steep Creek Stoneworks demonstrates his technique for making stone veneer look great.
The techniques are the same for block, poured concrete, or even a wood-frame wall, as Cody Macfie, Brevard, North Carolina, stonemason and freelance writer, demonstrates in this video.

Love watching the pros at work! Keep posting these vault videos! Hoping to do this to a retaining wall this summer on my property.
