The bookshelves featured were built with care and precision off site. Cherry, the homeowners’ favorite wood, was worked into the base around the room and in the details paired with maple wood shelving. The most prominent design feature was the vertically stacked overlapping corners. It also was the biggest challenge to build. The rest of the bookshelves were matched and built from the dimensions of these corners, so their creation was important. In order to keep the space from feeling overcrowded, time was spent determining the best spot to place the shelves based on where the owners would want to sit. When the project was completed, the beautiful shelves framed a space where the owners could go to relax and read.
