Bringing a fence down a slope invites some creative design solutions. At this historic home in Camden, Maine the builder did a magnificent job by putting substantial granite foundations under each section and then stepping the fence down the hill, punctuating each section by adding a post that interrupts the horizontal line. The lilacs, ancient apple tree and hills in the distance combine with the fence to make a beautiful approach to an important historic home.
