This abandoned farmhouse near Adrian, Texas, sits at the halfway point of iconic and historic U.S. Route 66. Situated exactly 1,139 miles from both Chicago and Los Angeles, Adrian is another town left stranded by the demise of the Mother Road. Interstate highways built in the 1950s and ’60s bypassed the famous road and left behind many similar towns and houses built near the once vital highway.
