This remarkable and lofty great room designed by Centerbrook Architects forms part of an addition to a weekend home in upstate New York. The fir “tree” supports and paneling suggest the Adirondack forests and lodges that are part of the surrounding landscape. A massive and beautifully crafted fireplace adds yet another organic element to an already natural and imaginative space. The overall effect is that nature has been brought inside. At night the spaciousness of the room is revealed from outside through the oversized windows.
