Boston architect Tom Catalano created this grand and elegant winding stairway for the front hallway of a new house his firm designed. With curved steps at the bottom and raised panels on the walls, Catalano’s design is inviting and beautiful. The arched ceiling between the living room and the stairway frames the space perfectly. Although a new house, it acknowledges and incorporates classical design elements that have been used for centuries. Well done.
