Shower Tower
A steel frame with board-and-batten exterior make for a very cool outdoor shower.
Hutker Architects of Falmouth, MA and Martha’s Vineyard have earned a fine reputation not only for designing great houses but also very cool outdoor showers. For example, take this remarkable and creative “shower tower”. With a steel frame and a type of board and batten exterior the tapering structure rests on the deck surrounding the house, piercing the roof and integrating it into the house footprint itself. With a rolling door that rotates when opened, the shower is open to the sky and gives a remarkable visual experience when inside. As an architectural photographer I’m continually impressed at the design ideas that come to my clients and I feel privileged to have worked with so many creative and brilliant people….

A shower stall with clear wood, and clear finish? How long will that last without a refinish? Why isn't maintenance thought about in the design work?
@diversityexcessive,
For the folks with the money to build such homes, maintenance requirements are but a trivial afterthought.
The steel frame will rust as well. Wood might actually be *lower* maintenance if the right variety had been used.
