San Francisco Carport
This abstraction of a popular tourist attraction is a “well-executed whimsy.”
Taking on a well-known historic tourist icon is no easy task, and this garage/carport does just that. Just two blocks away from “the crookedest street in San Francisco” (there is another, more crooked street, but that’s another story) this project uses the zig-zag forms of Lombard street and boils them down to an abstract vision. The architectural critic John King featured this project in an article and called it a “well-executed whimsy.”
