Footings Are Dug
The big excavator has done its job.
Once the footings were dug and all of the rocks either defeated or not, we sent the 330 back up the hill with the tire brigade. We decided to leave the Basement Boulder and redesigned the foundation around it. We shifted the building about four feet so that the mechanical chases from the basement would line up. The basement is now 240 sq. ft. smaller but still ample for our MEP room. The Shark’s Tooth needs to be ‘pulled’ because it is in the path of a steel beam and the Thermal Bridge will need to be ‘broken’ because we are building a Passivhaus.
To defeat these last two problems, Clyde once again comes through with the tools to move ahead …
