Timber Frame Makeover
Amazing views awaited this makeover! The original design had conventional height windows which cut off many of the views to the mountains. All new windows were put in along with a scissor truss and dormer. The original horizontal beams of the timber frame were of the typical style for this traditional construction method, but the new diagonal beams create a higher, perceived ceiling. Structural posts were also added in for balance.

A new rough-hewn mantle, natural wood cabinetry, and finer stonework around the fireplace give the room a more luxurious look.
Notice how much more closed-in the house felt before the timber frame was modified and the windows were replaced.
