Imagine my surprise as I walked into my wife’s aunt’s home in Connecticut, and realizing that it is the same model house that I grew up in on Long Island. My parents were the first owners of the home they “built” in 1960. As I was growing up in the suburbs, I never saw another house of that model, although I was under no illusion that it was a One of a kind home. The home in Ct. has not been majorly renovated since the seventies, leaving it a virtual time capsule.
Interesting to think about homebuilding, craftsmanship, and economy of scale, Levittown, and what it means to own or build a home.
