Pipe-Stand Bucket for Plumbing Jobs
Cut two notches in the top of a 5-gal. bucket for a homemade V-head pipe stand with plenty of space for storing fittings and tools.
Relatively clean buckets are very useful. I regularly use them as storage containers, sitting stools, work surfaces, measuring vessels, and more. The bucket shown in the drawing below I use specifically on plumbing jobs. To make it, I took a standard 5-gal. bucket and cut two notches in the top. I load it with the tools and fittings that I need to finish a particular job. And when it’s time to cut a pipe to length, the two notches hold the pipe in place like a V-head pipe stand.
