Perfect Pouch for Remodeling
This slim, one-compartment pouch is useful for holding fasteners and hooking small tools.
For years I’ve been on the lookout for tool pouches that works well on remodeling jobs, where I’m constantly swapping out tools and fasteners and need to be careful about scraping walls and bumping into my customers’ possessions. I finally found what I was looking for in the Holstery products.
While Holstery offers a complete lineup of tool holsters, belts, and pouches, the product it is best known for, and the one I use most often, is the Joey Pouch, which has a slim profile and a belt hook rather than a loop.
The Joey Pouch is basically a one-compartment pouch with a couple slots on the sides for hooking small tools. You can store tools in the pouch, but I find it most useful for fasteners. I can throw a bunch of fasteners into the pouch, clip it onto my belt or pants pocket, and get to work.
When I’m done using the pouch and set it down, a drawstring deploys a cover that helps keep everything inside the pouch instead of all over the floor. Holstery makes the Joey Pouch and the Joey Pouch Pro, both in regular and “Big Joey” sizes, starting at $35. The Pro versions of the tool pouches have backer plates and belt clips made from aluminum instead of plastic.
Along with the Joey Pouch, I also own Holstery’s magnet clip, which is strong enough to hold heavy hand tools; a clip for my drills/drivers; a hammer loop; and a unique clip designed to hold a framing square, which would otherwise dominate the entire space in the pouch. All these products can be found at holstery.com.
