Custom Cabinet Pullout Drawer
Here's a space-saving idea for a bathroom vanity.
Bathroom vanity cabinets often lack good storage, especially under the sink. Installing a pullout drawer to the side of the cabinet is an easy and effective solution for adding space and organizing your items. I use mine to store taller or awkwardly shaped items, like hair tools, while still leaving space below for smaller essentials. Installing a pullout drawer is simple. I used two full-extension drawer slides mounted at the top and bottom of a 1×8 spacer, which attaches to the side of the cabinet and allows the slides to clear the face frame. Then I positioned the slides on the drawer at the same distance as on the spacer and simply slid it into place. My drawer measures 16 in. by 71/2 in. by 91/2 in., but you can customize the size of your drawer to fit your needs.
