Shoulder Your Buckets
Add a strap for easy carrying and pouring when working with 5-gal. buckets.
Here’s a great use for a busted ratchet/tie-down strap: Turn it into a shoulder strap for a 5-gal. bucket. Just drill a hole in the side and in the bottom of the bucket, drill a hole through the doubled-up ends of the strap, and secure the strap to the bucket with small nuts, bolts, and washers.
I love to use this setup when spreading calcium on the ground, which neutralizes soil acidity and improves microbial activity. Just be sure to use a standard twist-drill bit. If you try drilling through the strap with a brad-point bit, it will just grab it and spin it around.
