Right-Sized Gas Furnace
This compact furnace has low Btu ratings for both heating and cooling, offering a solution for small and high-performance projects.
High-performance builders, particularly those constructing accessory dwelling units (ADUs), additions, and other smaller structures, have long struggled to find appropriately sized gas-fired central heating and cooling equipment. The smallest conventional central gas furnaces typically start at around 40,000 Btu, and their matching air-conditioning coils are often rated between 18,000 Btu and 24,000 Btu. This results in oversized systems that are more expensive to operate and also prone to short-cycling, which can lead to poor humidity control, uncomfortable or inconsistent indoor conditions, and reduced equipment life.
The Dettson Compact Chinook gas furnace offers a much-needed solution. Input ratings as low as 15,000 Btu for heating and 12,000 Btu for cooling make it a far better match for small and high-performance projects with low heating or cooling loads. The unit also features adjustable airflow from 50 cfm to 400 cfm, which allows for precise system tuning. Dettson backs the Chinook with a lifetime warranty on the heat exchanger and a 10-year warranty on all other parts, giving builders and homeowners added peace of mind.
