This is probably a worthless post but I was at CVS tonight and noticed they had a 4 way laser level for 10dollars in a section by the magazines, was one of the ‘as seen on tv’ products I believe. Normally I wouldn’t buy one of these(and didn’t) but someone else who uses laser for layout alot and has a real laser to check it against might be interested in one as a backup or to give the drywall/ceiling guys .

Since I just posted a 'buy a case of 10' HF items under the disk grinder topic, I'll add a (worthless to the 'connesuiers') comment here.
HF has had the single 18" laser levels for $6 to $10 for years. Bought 4 of them once out of curiosity. 1 was "right on" for level, the other 3 so-so, good enough for 1/16" in 15 ft but that's about all. Cut one apart on band saw to see if it could be 'adjusted' - very nice fine internal screw adjustments inside; however, it is all potted in epoxy! The cost of the methyl chloride to dissolve out the epoxy to be able to adjust the vials or the laser is more than the level cost. Poor QC/adjustment in production (wadda expect for probaly under a dollar for manufacturing costs) with the internal design in that not all of them were 'right on', wish one could buy them 'unpotted'.
Anyway, cut the laser out of one and use it as a pointer, milled the aluminum body of another for 'right on' (not cost effective) , and the other is sitting in a pile of stuff somewhere.
now I know why you call yourself JUNKHOUND...lolThe secret of Zen in two words is, "Not always so"!
