You guys helped me out on this topic and thanks. Here is info I got from the Tamko local rep. He said that there is a lot of debate about this. They say to use 15# since it allows the roof system to breathe and equalize moinstur.
Guess I will follot that. He also said the 15# would lay flatter and is a bit easier to put on.

Thoughty#30 would have been the choice.
Before winter I built a chimney, and shingled the sides of my house, which were already impervious to rain, with imperfect and sappy shingles made of the first slice of the log, whose edges I was obliged to straighten with a plane.

I hate covering a roof with #15 felt and having tear under foot. It's no fun when that happens on a 8 or 9 pitch roof with no toe boards. For this reason, I stick to #30, especially on roofs with greater than 6/12 pitch.
