I am removing a Press and Stick Vynil floor in my Kitchen circa 1977 and once I have removed the tiles there is a residue of the adhesive from these tiles that is still on the sub floor plywood. I have tried Mineral Spirits, Laquer Thinner, but they just leave the adhesive in a slimmy state that does not solve my problem. I have also bought and tried Henry Easy Release and that was a total waste of money. Does anyone know the best way to remove this old adhesive that will leave the sub floor with just minimal clean up ?

The recipe for linoleum hasn't changed much in nearly 170 years, yet it's still one of the greenest floors money can buy.

Acetone will probably get it but is very flammable and bad to breathe, so try the Goo Gone first.
Vynal Tile
First, what are you putting down on the floor after pulling the vynal tile up ? You may be able to go over the stickyness with mastic and relay anything you choose down. Secondly, why go thru all that trouble with flammable material and labor, just cover the stickyness with a 1/4 inch underlayment, then you have a nice clean sub-floor to work with. I think you are thinking too much on fixing something that doesn't need fixing. Your talking about a lot of labor here.
