In the process of finishing up the interior door project of my house.
The last one is the basement door, which has a 26″ wide slab. Can’t find any in stock at any lumber yard or box store, So I’m guessing this is an oddball size.
Is this size available or do I need to increase the rough opening to accomodate the 28″ wide slab?
If it means anything, the house was built in ’78. Perhaps 26″ slabs were a trend during that time era?
thnx in advance for the consult~

Can't say I remember ever framing for, hanging or needing to find, a 2'-2" door, so I googled............
of course, typing in 2'-2" door was the wrong way.
Tried 26 inch door and this came up:

It is not one of the more common sizes but it is not all that unique. It is not likely to be a stock item. Your real lumber yard should not have any problem ordering one for you. I spec them every once in a while if needed for a special case.
If you get a slab with thick edges it should be possible to trim a 28" down. (Of course, the thick-edged slab is likely an expensive special-order item.) Worst case you can just rip down a standard hollow-core (take it all off of one edge) and then re-glue the edge.
Or, of course, get a solid slab. But the weight of those (not to mention the expense) is a significant issue.
Your door
I know your not looking for a pre-hung door but when doing my doors which were pre-hung I went to one of the big box stores and found out the 26" ers were a "special order." About double to price of a standard sized door.
