It’s been years since I used 3/8″ dry wall. I remembered it didn’t have a taper.I used a sheet the other day to aid a plaster repair and quess what this stuff has a tapered edge. When did that happen? I have to use this more.
I was wondering what this stuff will span? It appears very dense. Could it span 2-0 on a horizontal?

Take a look at the USG (sheetrock) installation guide here:

According to them, no, you can not span 24".
I was actually surprised to learn that when greenboard is installed on a ceiling with joists 16" OC, they want you to use the 5/8" sheets. I used 1/2", but I haven't had any problems with sagging so I guess their recommendations are somewhat conservative.

It can. But I think it's too thin by itself for a wall.
If you're talking ceilings, I wouldn't think its a good idea on 16", but I have seen it done, and didn't noice any sagging.

Thanks guys for the info.
I'm acually looking at covering plaster walls. The walls had panelling ( 70' remodel) glued to the plaster. Well most of the finish plaster and then some came off with the panelling. Easier to cover than patch. The 3/8" should work better with jamb extensions etc.
The ceiling is another story. This house has NO insulation. Looking at reframming over plaster. Get at least a R~13. Will go 16 oc and use the 3/8"
Thanks again
