I am remodeling a kitchen in a house that was built in 1948. The style is classic fifties style with red and white checkered linoleum flooring, white appliances, white cabinets, red countertops with chrome trim/edging. I would like to have a similar style on the countertop but have not found a distributor for the edging for the counter tops. It is about 2.5 inches high and over laps the top surface just slightly. Does anyone have any leads on where I can purchase this chrome edge banding? Thanks

I looked on the web and found this. they sell 12' lengths of 1 1/2, 2, 3 " metal banding. There is some cool cracked ice and boomerang formica on there too. http://www.barsandbooths.com/retrostandardroundtables.htm

I know I've seen it before. You could prowl around here at these booths for renovation supplies.

They have a pretty good catologue.
For higher end stuff try:
Julius Blum And Co.
50 Blum Blvd.
Wood Ridge, New Jersey

Great catologue. Hope this helps.
Don't laugh everyone but you can also just go to your local box store and look in the bath edging section and find the allmost identical Mldg. that was used in that era.
