Do I need to allow new kitchen cabinets to acclimate inside the house before installation? If so for how long?

Nope, unless you dragged them out of a pond. The way cabinets are built there shouldn't be much of any movement due to changes in moisture content, which is the reason for acclimating solid wood building materials.
Using the speed that most kitchen remodels get done, I thought the answer was 68 weeks.http://www.quittintime.com/ View Image
LOL
Most of our jobs are broken down into chunks of two guys, two weeks. 68 weeks sounds about right though.
that's what I thought but I had someone tell me otherwise so thought I'd check to make sure. Thanks
Now that you mention it, it would be a good trick to play on unsuspecting newbies though....
lol probably; I'm not a newbie, I'm a remodeling contractor and I've done several kitchens but I'd never heard that one.
LOL, Great visual.
Family.....They're always there when they need you.
Saw some cabs that were made in China. Some warped so bad, you couldn't open the drawers.
If you have good ones, shouldn't be a problem.

How long before they offshore the foundation work?
I'm not flippin' you off.........just counting cubits
They could probably make styrofoam forms...............
I usually acclimate cabinets individually for about 15 minutes.
That's about the amount of time needed to get out of the boxes, remove the doors / drawers, draw the stud lines on the back and bore the pilot holes.
Sink bases, since they involve water, require a longer period of acclimation, more like 30 minutes - I always have trouble finding that hole saw.......
