Any recommendations on vinyl sliding doors, I live in So. Calif. and would like to install myself with little or no damage to the exterior stucco. I purchased a installation dvd on the internet and Im waiting for its delivery. What are the top brands of doors and any other device?
Thanks in advance.

Ok , if you don't want to damage the stucco , then you want to go with a " retro-fit" slider. Its the best way to go , . Now measuring is key of course. If you have significant cover over top of the door , you can implode the existing frame and install inside the stucco , or you can do the other way and cut out the bottom track with a sawzall and leave the sides and top. Measure according to how it will be installed to avoid unsightly gaps and voids around frame that you will have to patch or pump a huge amount of caulk into and will look bad and leak....
Now , as for what type to get, well choices abound. I like doors with steel rollers, a good heavy vinyl material and thick retro fins double walled vinyl to keep them straight and not flex to the stuccos shape.
Personally I think that Windowmaster 800 series is pretty good, you get steel rollers , good insulation values, etc.but lately their prices , rival Milgard.
Milgard- Alot of people swear by them and I know they stand by their product...
Cetainteed , - they sell alot of 'em and I don't like them too much. Too hard to adjust the rollers , and the retro fin is really thin and conforms to all the variations in stucco .
So do your homework , I'm in So Cal too , so any questions .....ask.
