Flew to the great state of Texas last week. Felt more secure doing that than going to work at the Pentagon. Have a few questions and observations. To wit:
Why were both our Captain and the Stew-in-Chief selected by the DCA security types for a body scan with twangers? That;s bullshit. Smells like PR to me.
Real security reared its ugly head when the (now approved) Captain announced right after takeoff that, because we were flying out of DCA, if anybody–pax or stews–unbuckled their seatbelt before we were 30 minutes out, we would land in Westbygodvirginia or somewhere. Same thing, in reverse, coming home a few days later. Chatted w/ the pilot after, and he was serious about that.
So my observation is that we’ll probably never again have to fear what happened o that terrible day in September. But what are we missing?
Your thoughts, always welcome. I love you guys.
