I am in the market of purchasing pump jacks and noticed that are two manufactures. I’m wonder what the differances are. One that I noticed was how they differ on how they attach to the house. One attaches to the side of the house and the other attaches to the roof. Are there any other any other differences. Thanks!

Nice setup in that picture. Never set one up quite like that. How stable was it? Greg
well, it's not exactly a sidewalk, but it's close... the back set is made with some arms we welded extension angles to,,, the front set is just 2x4's spiked to the roof framing to lag the factory arm to...Mike Smith Rhode Island : Design / Build / Repair / Restore
Well I never got into a situation like that before but if I do now I have the answer. Thanks for the pic.Greg
mike-whats the cost per set of the alum a pole i'm in the market for aset or two in the spring...... thanks bear
just off the top of my head..
say $250 for a 24' pole, $90 for a jack, $45 for a work bracket, $45 for a stand-off arm, so $430 x 2 poles plus
$600 for a 20" x 24' pic.. so about $1200 to $1500 for your first set-up.. then you can add to it.... or split the cost with a friend...
tough for the first job... but it comes out to peanuts for 10 yearsMike Smith Rhode Island : Design / Build / Repair / Restore
http://www.blackbearladder.com/sale.html Have complete setup listed for $1175 with 14" x 24' plank. Have seen it similarly priced elsewhere.

I just had to post it considering your moniker and the website name and the fact that I again had black bear at my house rummaging garbage last night. He completely destroyed one of those Rubbermaid shed thingys that we bought to deter exactly this event.
Gettin' awfully close to 10 foot off the ground there, Mike. Almost time for guardrails, huh?

We have used the Alum-a-pole system for quite a while now and it works great everytime. You should be able to attach either system where you want. I use Werner stages with mine because I use a 28' alot and the biggest one Alum-a-pole has is 24'. The Alum-a-pole stages have a nifty way of locking the ends together if you need to go longer.( such as three poles on one side of the house). I have friends that use the other system and they it works just fine so I guess its a toss up. Get whatever you have access to in your area.
