They seem to be indentical in price (the ones that have to be cut). In my limited experience with aluminum, I felt like they dented easily – and in my more extensive experience with vinyl, I feel like they get dirty/yellowed and never get clean again.
Anyone else know any pros and cons?

Aluminum blocks light. Vinyl allows some filtered light in. That's the criteria I use to decide which to use.
I bought the metal mini-blinds from HD and they didn't close all the way. So I moved them to the guest room, where the in-laws come to stay....heh...heh. I went out and bought the vinyl mini-blinds for our bedroom and they do close all the way.I went to Next Day Blinds and they wanted $600.00 for 3 blinds that would block out light totally.I wear eye shades on the weekends when I want to sleep a little latter......View Image
In my experience, vinyl eventually sags--don't know, but figure aluminum wouldn't.
