Hi —
Is anyone familiar with the Lainge autocirc retrofit recirc pumps? I installed one under a kitchen sink and it worked great. I am remodeling a bathroom where it takes forever to get hot water. We’re totally replumbing the bathroom and I’m wondering if I can plumb this pump into a closet using the hot and cold “in” connections on the pump but capping the connections that are meant to go to the sink. Reason is: we’re using pedestal sinks and there’s no place to put this except in the closet. I’m trying to avoid more complicated plumbing than is required. I’ve contacted the manufacturer but no answer yet. Must be the holidays…
Thanks,
Pete

That'll work just fine, and if your water distribution system is a branch type as opposed to a manifold type, you will also get hot water more quickly to other fixtures at that end of the house.
I think the only way it would be a problem would be if there were some sort of flow switch in the pump, and that seems unlikely for this kind of pump.
