Hi,
I have a question that i was hoping some in Texas could answer for me. My brother-in-law just purchased a new home from a large builder , not long after taking possesion of his home there was a flood from a water line in ceiling causing some damage, made worse by the fact that no one was home for a few days allowing the water to run free. The home builder repaired all the damage and he is happy- my question ( or really his is) does the home builder have to disclose to him in writing all the repairs that they made as a result of the water damage ?
I know that when I work with our warranty board – in Ont. Canada we must disclose to the homeowner repairs made under warranty. I have no idea if the state has a state run or regulated warranty board for new homes or what is normal. Any help would be great. And its not to give the builder a hard time ( I’ve been a carpentry contractor for 20 years and I’d kick his *** if he was to give his builder any grief I think he is just concerned that if he sells it may come back to him)
Thanks , I hope some can help

Interesting question. I have had two new homes in Texas, both with HO warranties, never have come across that situation. Bro might want to contact the state attorney generals office or check the web site. I'll look it up and edit shortly.
I'm back...thanks for holding. Try http://www.oag.state.tx.us and there is a section called consumer protection.
