Anybody used Crown Point cabinetry
Hi guys, ya, I’m a bit of a lurker, kinda busy with business (I’m a contractor) and wife and kids to write here much.
So, my wife is going to kill me if I don’t get the kitchen done this year! Even though I am on the west coast I am checking out Crown Point for our near-turn-of-the-century house.
Anybody had dealings with them?
Appreciate the input!

Sounds like your in a bit of trouble, you've only got 13 days to get this job done, dont think I would be looking at Crown Point, go down to the big box store and get some of those made up MDF cabinets, you know the ones that need paint. Should be able to do the job this weekend and your home free.
I guess you are joking around with me, huh? Our temporary kitchen is Mills Pride in nice shape with a preformed counter. Looking for some nice vintage inset door cabinetry without devoting my life to doing this job myself with mixed results. Have you used Crown Point? My wife has given me longer than two weeks!!

Yes I'm just goofing around and yes I have installed one kitchen that used Crown Point, they were well built but thats about all I can tell you about them, they were there when I got there and I had nothing to do with ordering or any of that good stuff.
You may try doing a search here at breaktime, seems I remember some time back someone was commenting on Crown Point cabinets, or someone here will respond eventualy.

I've toured the factory, used them a few times, seen them a few other times.
Nice company, nice cabinet, nice options. They are pricey, but not off the deep end for what you get. Having said that, I couldn't afford them for my house.
Lead time varies, think 4 months, +/-.
Know any good kitchen designers? I would tend to use their people for the design, start with what you think you want and listen to what they offer. However you get there, make sure they sign off on the final design. That goes for any semi-custom cabinet, and has more to do with what I think of many so-called "kitchen designers".
What else can I say? I have heard nothing but good things about them.
Wow, not much response on this subject; I'm underwhelmed!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year folks!!
Like I said, what am I supposed to say. If there was a problem you would hear all sorts of things.
The only advice I could give you is if you are going to dump half a truckload of cash for them, make sure they are designed right.
Shipping might be an issue, they ship on their trucks from New Hampshire to how far? I don't know because they are local for me.
Happy holidays back at ya.
Big Guy,
I put them in my uncle's kitchen. Went with the cherry shaker flat panel. They are excellent quality. We went to tour the factory. It was funny but we chose the same cabinets that they have in the factory lunch room. It took about 6 weeks from order to delivery. Very nice people to deal with.
If you are ever in the North East, I would give them a look. Great place to visit. If you deal direct with them you will save some money vs going through a retailer. We ordered them at the factory. Being on the West coast I don't know if that will work for you.
For cabinets that look right in an old house they are great. My uncle's house was a circa colonial. Crown Point cabinets were featured on This Old House. After that I am sure they were swamped but that was a few years ago.
My mother is looking at them for her kitchen. They are a little pricey, but the level of finish, quality, and detail is amazing.
Here is a link to their site. Good luck.

Thanks John and Qtrmeg, helps to hear something from a person, rather than just the hype from THO and the ads in the back of magazines. Out here in the NW shops that specialize in inset doors aren't too prevalent, so that's one of the reasons I'm checking into Crown Point. I know they are pricey, but it may be worth it in the long run (esp.) considering the price of houses out here. They are getting on the design for us so we'll see what they come up with. Some remaining cab doors of our house (early 1900s) are basically shaker style with little adornment. We are looking for some nice little touches and good quality. Ya, I've been to the website and it's pretty polished. So far, very nice person that I spoke too. We'll also be checking into shops around here.
Thanks again for the input!
later guys!
I haven't used these cabinets but had them send me literature and option information a few years back and when I spoke with them they were very helpful and informative. The man. is Rutt Cabinetry. If it is custom that you are looking for, you may want to investigate them as well. Good luck.
