Anyone have a Rigid framing nailer?
Just picked up Rigid’s latest framing nailer from big Orange recently but have not decided to keep yet or not (still have not opened box).. I was wondering if anyone had any experiance with it for occasional home use (not fulltime job). Also, how important is the .148 vs. .162 shank size. They also had a great Senco deal, but it only went up to a .148 shank size and that scared me aware. Looks like all the big guns shoot up to .162 now.
Thanks for any help

I researched about the Rigid FRH framing nailer. Ended up buying a Porter Cable instead, because it guaranteed the .162" nail acceptance. Rigid wouldn't answer my questions, plus it was impossible trying to find a place that sold their nailers on the net. The funny thing is, the .162" diameter nails fit, but the plastic collation material kept catching and the nails wouldn't work.
Do you really need a nailer with .162" shank acceptance? I use them because I build in Japan and the earthquake codes require the thicker nails, but I don't think they are too common yet in states outside of California, are they? I had a hard time finding the large shank nails as well....
