Years ago I remember a plumber having a really slick drill bit for his hole hawg.
It was similar to Milwaukee’s self feed bits, with one important difference.
The outside of the cutting “body” was threaded.
This made the bit a pleasure to use becaus it would feed itself ALL the way though whatever you were drilling.
No having to lean on it to break through that last 1/4″ when the pilot thread is no longer doing anything.
Holes still had some blowout on the exit side but not as much as an auger bit.
I probably don’t REALLY need any more drill bits, but that has never stopped me before!!
Any one else out ther remember a bit like this?
