I am bidding on a remodel job in a 10 story apartment building. One of the modifications lincludes converting an existing shower to a whirlpool tub and relocating it about two feet away. The floor system is concrete and the plumber does not want to do any cutting or chipping away of the subfloor to relocate the drain for structural and liability resons. However if I could use an upflush system, I could re-rout the drain line through the wall and get it back to the main stack. My problem is that all the upflush systems I have seen are for toilets, sinks, shower, washers and dryers but not tubs. Does anyone know of a system approved for a tub? I know its a lot of water being drained at a single time to pump out but its worth checking around for. Thanks for any info.

There are available sump/pump combos for any volume of water. A couple of manufacturers specialize in these. Of course they need to be positioned below the tub by some amount, meaning that a pit may be required.
