Need to put down a piece of sheet vinyl in a laundry room expansion, about 8×16′. Armstrong has several styles available, including one that is not glued. The instructions are to use their special double stick tape under seams, doorways, and appliances. They specifically say not to do the entire perimeter; quarter round or shoe mould is used to keep the edges in place. Anyone have any experience with this?

I haven't used the double-stick tape one yet. But I have used their "interflex" installation system which is an edge-glue method. Seems to work very well although if you do use this make sure you follow their instructions carefully as i've had problems with the adhesive staining the vinyl from below if the right underlayment isn't used.
It would seem to me that something else would be required to hold the thing in place- do they staple the edges under the shoe molding? I'm just envisioning moving a washer a few feet to get at a hose and having the floor pull free from under the shoe...
I'll throw in another maybe....
I've done the whole glue deal......and the edge staple floor.....but not the edge glue or the shoe hold.......
I'd call and ask if staples around the perimeter are ok......not sure I'd trust the shoe either.....seems like the same difference...just better fastening with staples first...then shoe as normal. Jeff.......Sometimes on the toll road of life.....a handful of change is good.......
