I want to replace 100 year old undersized floor joists. House has balloon framing on one side, brick party wall on the other. However, the joists on each side of the party wall penetrate all the way through. Would like to remove joists, brick up the opening and then install a ledger using sleeve anchors or treaded rod in an adhesive to support the ledger. New, larger floor joists would be installed with hangers. On one floor, the opposite end of the joists would rest on the sill plate. On the second floor, I would attach a ledger to the balloon framing using lag bolts along with the ledger attached to the party wall at that level. The total load per LF on the ledger is about 450 lbs.
Any thoughts on this approach?

You really really need to hire a structural engineer. What you are suggesting wouldn't fly here in SoCal
