Any reason I shouldn’t use an exhausting attic fan for use in the summer so that the attic (which is finished) isn’t so warm? It is air conditioned, with the thermostat on the 2nd floor which is generally cooler. The attic would be in the unconditioned space above the ceiling.
The area above the ceiling has 14″ of blown in insulation and the space between the rafters have batt insulation in the unfinished areas.
Thanks
John

Studies have shown that in most cases the reduction in heat gain from the attic is less than the cost of the power for the fan.
Also unless the condictioned space is WELL SEALED from the attic the fan can suck out the nices cool air that you have paid for and pull it into the attic.
