A fairly new trade trade association for the deck & dock industry is putting on a trade show in Atlanta this spring. For info, go to www.deckindustry.org. An affiliated magazine, Professional Deck Builder, is also being published and is a freebie. It’s at www.deckmagazine.com. I finally got my first copy today and promptly ordered 50 more to give to my customers. Watch out NAHB!

I think having a magazine for the deck industry is great. The first issue was OK with 66 pages of new products, venders, and a Profile from Hickory Dickory Decks, But I think it shows off more East coast information than West coast.

That means it's time for you to write an article..

Pardon my ignorance...what are some of the major coastal differences? I would guess that more redwood is used in the west, and more syp in the east, but what else?
Actually More Cedar is used here Elcid72. I was making reference to all the East coast suppliers listed in the catalog. As Piffin said, we just have to make them aware that we have some pretty neat stuff on the West Coast, like Hammers. :-)Bob
