A couple of weeks ago I posted a question about Azek trim and I got the answers to my questions but the problem is I can’t find that thread in the search function. I’ve never used the stuff before now and I applied it as I would have with wood. The question I’m having is should I have left a 3/8″ gap around the edges of the vinyl windows for a caulk joint? I set a 1/4″ reveal on the edge of the vinyl window but I didn’t pin the Azek to the vinyl but pinned it to a 2x backer over the flange. I didn’t see anything in any literature for the Azek or the window about a gap and hope I didn’t screw it up.
Should I have made the trim 3/4″ wider than the window and caulked the 3/8″ gap?

Well, if I understand your question, I usually leave a gap for caulk, but nowhere near 3/8" -- more like 1/8"
That said, assuming you flashed properly, you shouldn't have too much of a problem. I'd go ahead and run a bead of caulk over joint with some good caulk, like PL poly.

!/8" gap is about what I left.
