I would like your professional opinion regarding the drainage in my basement. I am having a problem due to ground water. It is not gutters, etc like everyone claims. This water seeps into the basement regardless of rainy days. The only true option I have is some sort of drains installed from the inside. Exterior work would be the best solution, but my house has mature, and expensive, landscaping and decking.
What I would like to do is educate myself on what type of system would work the best. I’ve had estimates, all different prices, and they all claim their solution is the best.
I would appreciate any advice with my situation.

Only a war story here, no $$$ numbers, though...
Neighbors had water in their basement ALL the time. Low lot, neighboring lots drain to them, high water table.
After wrestling for years, last summer they had the perimeter of the basement slab cut back about 18" from the basement walls. Slab broken up, earth removed, drainage pipe installed with a pump and perimeter slab re-poured.
Good reports from them to date. They have a poured foundation, no visible cracking, but fairly high hydrostatic pressure.
*Mongo what you just described is what we call a french drain and the best if you can't get to the outside. Add to that a block sealer paint(like Uglock) and you can handle most straght forward jobs
