Starting basement remodel and noticed the tops of my brick wall are hollow.
before I stick 2” rigid foam up against the rim joists I’m wondering if there’s anything I should do to the hollow bricks?
the first level of my house is brick all the way around, if that makes a difference.
any suggestions?

the hollow blocks are fine, but you need to provide fire blocking, as well as vapor barrier and insulation.
I put XPS foamed in place along the rim joist, and another piece on the bottom of the joist cavity, extending over the wall and then sealed to XPS inside the block wall.
If your method leaves a gap just above the block, make sure you include it in the required fire blocking every ten feet along the length of the perimeter wall
