Hi all, I building a rec room for a friend and have a couple questions.
We will be framing a wall that will be against the foundation wall which is
made of concrete. Along the bottom of this wall there is a Hot water supply
that runs to a hot water baseboard heater in another part of the house. Can
we frame around this and just run the pipe through the framing as any other
water line or is there a fire hazzard. Because this is an outside wall I
think he will want to insulate this wall.Should I just put vapour barrier
on the warm side as usual or should I put anything against the concrete
first. Also should I keep insulation away from the hot water pipe.
Thanks

Keeping HVAC systems within the conditioned enclosure can be tough without a basement; one option is to use plenum trusses for the roof, which offer a space for equipment and ductwork.
