I’m soon going to be installing a nice Kohler cast iron corner bathtub in a house I’m building on Orcas Island Washington. I do like a nice long hot soak in a tub, and am wondering if the tub can be insulated to minimize heat loss, or if there is any other neat and not too expensive way to keep the water warm for an extended period of time — other than keeping a fire lit below. Any suggestions? I’ve sent e-mails to the tub manufacturer twice, with no response at all. I’m not looking to spend a lot of money, but thought that at least the bottom of the tub could be packed with insulation. Hope to hear from someone on this.
