Can I use a Bell Trap Drain for a basement shower where no “s” trap has been installed below the concrete floor?

Hi Chalet,
It would probably depend on the local building code where you are, as to whether it is 'legal' to do. However I don't think a bell trap would allow enough water to drain fast enough to prevent the shower from over flowing, or at least you standing in about three inches of water.
Just my two pennies worth. :^)

I'm no plumber, but I don't think bell traps meet code in Massachusetts. Not sure where your working - check the local plumbing code. I call the town inspector if I'm not sure.
You've got two choices - ask permission, or beg forgiveness.
