Donde estan los blueprints, amigo?
I am a noobie to the forums. Please forgive me if I transgress forum etiquette. I have posted this question also in the JLCOnline forum… but I note that I am a subscriber to FHB since about 1997… or whenever the last issue was oversized compared to the current 8.5″ x 11″ magazine format.
I am looking for a Spanish language resource to teach blueprint reading to Spanish-speaking students at the local community college. I have searched in the threads but not found this exact topic.
I am a former high school French teacher who has worked in construction the past six years and learned Spanish from Ignacio, Jose, Jorge, El Viejito (The Old Guy), Juan, Jesus, Bartolome, and the rest of the crew. My former carpentry instructor at the community college wants me to teach a course on BLUEPRINT READING for limited English proficiency construction workers.
I have used GOOGLE searches in English and in Spanish (Busqueda Google). I found one textbook in Spanish at ContractorBooks.com for reading industrial blueprints for machining, etc. I’ve looked at websites from other community colleges, architecture websites from Mexico, Spain, Argentina, etc., and only get eventually referred to AutoCAD in English.
I really do not want to re-invent the wheel. I’ve also tried ERIC (Education Resources Information Center) and other sources from those distant college days.
Does any know where a vocabulary list is for describing symbols and features of blueprints?
Thank you for reading.
Neal
