A neighbor woman claims to have been bitten by a brown recluse spider while in bed. There are three bites on her leg.
In this area I have never seen or heard of any reports on brown recluse spider bites that I can recall.
Might any know if a brown recluse will make multiple bites like that?
Thanks

Sounds more like fleas or chiggers, I don't think BR's bite more than once..at least I've never heard of it and I've known all of 2 people to have been bit. One spot, each.

If there is any question, I would get to a doc pretty quickly as the recluse can make you pretty darn sick espeically if you are allergic to spider bites. Most of the folks around here (Florida) that get bit only seem to be bitten once as the spider is not all that aggressive anyway (hence the name) but I would still have it checked out. Better safe than sorry.
Brown recluse put a friend in the hospital for a week. Healthy, active guy too. Was bitten in bed. Not sure how many bites though. Very nasty.
I was bitten four times, over the course of a couple months. Nasty bits. Think "necrotic tissue." I still have the scars.
Nasty! I had to move out of an apartment once cause of them things. Dozens of them living there long before I showed up.
Oh yeah, she went to the hospital and had the spider in a jar. Made me wonder with the multiple bites is why the question.
Spider was said to be very large and pics of recluses I've seen don't show that awful large of a size.
Made me wonder is a foriegn doctor might make a mistake in identification.
This help any?
